Kaku has a background in Geographic Information Systems and Project Management. She has worked as a consultant applying these skills toward flood risk identification and management. She has prior experience in multiple industries including state government, a startup, as well as small, mid, and large sized private sector organizations. Kaku obtained a master’s degree in Geography and GISciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is also a Certified Floodplain Manager, Geographic Information Systems Professional and Project Management Professional.
