Nodi Solutions is seeking a junior emergency management planner to work with our FEMA clients supporting program management, projects, and programs. Work may include, but is not limited to: emergency operations and/or contingency plans, analysis, doctrine development (manuals, policies, procedures), training, exercise, and project coordination.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Apply consulting expertise to support client and stakeholder needs through data collection, analysis, writing, listening, note taking, guidance and doctrine development

  • Apply oral and written communication skills to develop project deliverables, including strategic plans, Guides, SOPs, written reports and briefing slides in the areas of response, recovery, logistics and field operations.

  • Provide document development support including writing project management plans, analyzing data, developing content, tracking comments, and completing final reviews and technical edits.

  • Provide stakeholder engagement and analysis including managing meeting invites, taking notes, and facilitating stakeholder discussions

  • Research, advise, and apply federal, state, and local requirements to requested deliverables or processes

  • Develop materials and tools to conduct in–depth discussion and engagement with stakeholders

  • Participate in project initiatives for federal, state, local, tribal, and/or private sector clients related to emergency management and homeland security

 Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a professional work environment

  • BA or BS degree in Emergency Management or related field

  • Ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests.  Strong organizational skills.

  • Experience with stakeholder or client engagement or outreach

  • Excellent communications skills to include written and oral.  Ability to communicate at all levels of interaction

  • Proven ability to organize and synthesize complex information for client understanding and action

  • Knowledge of emergency management planning systems and policies such as the National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS), the National Response Framework (NRF), National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF), FEMA’s six step planning process, Disaster Recovery Reform Act of 2018 (DRRA) and other federal preparedness guidance documents and policies 

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

 Desired Qualifications:

  • Current AEM or CEM Certification

  • MA or MS degree in Emergency Management or related field

  • Experience working with Federal, State, or local government clients in emergency management, homeland security, disaster resilience, public health, and/or law enforcement

  • Experience working with FEMA or other DHS components

  • Experience as a technical writer of specifications, standards, and technical manuals
